Teegan • I hope everything is to your liking. | SootClan Fennelflight Warrior 18 Moons Male Pansexual |
There probably weren't many warriors in SootClan that could feel bleary and energetic at the same time. In fact, Fennelflight thought as he lugged his bleary body through the entrance into the camp, he might be the only cat under the sky that felt that way.
When he had left it, shortly after sundown, to hunt because he felt too antsy to sleep, it was still purring and buzzing; now it seemed to have quieted down.
"I definitely won't be able to do any more hunting today..." The lean tabby's muscles ached badly. Furthermore, Fennelflight was neither overzealously driving himself to accomplish some goal - by all means, he considered rest essential and those who forwent it asinine - nor had he ever been one of those who seek anguish for pleasure. Nonetheless, he never got much sleep. Right now, albeit exhaustion stupefied his body, the indomitable restlessness of the mind kept him awake.
The young warrior had already covered half the distance between camp entrance and warrior's den when he noticed that he was not the only one awake. "Mousedung!" He immediately pulled himself together: His legs straightened, his head went up, he fully opened his eyes and steadied his gaze while - unbeknownst to him - his tail went straight up like a pine tree. "How fortunate that I groomed my fur before I left." Fennelflight always took care of his fur before doing anything else. Some would call it arrogance, but he considered it a necessity. Besides, his mood had improved substantially after that realization and he was once again exuding his usual aura of self-confidence. Determined, it took the tall warrior only a few leaps to cross the distance separating him from the awake cat he had noticed.
Although he had taken quite a long time to notice her now, it would have taken him one whiff only to identify her alluring scent if he had been alert. The cat in question was VixenRose, a slightly older female warrior and a clanmate of his. Fennelflight had exchanged more than a few words with her this past month and one needn't be particularly perceptive to know that he liked her... a lot. She had this air of fire about her while at the same time she seemed strangely caring. Now, Fennelflight did not usually compliment others in his mind, no, that space was usually reserved for himself. He was fabulous, truly incredible indeed, but astonishingly VixenRose seemed to be, too!
Thus, careful not to show his innervation, the tabbies mint green eyes sought hers, and he meowed in a low tone of voice: "Good evening! It was quite a positive surprise to see you, after all, I didn't expect anyone to be awake so long after sundown." He paused for a minute to direct his gaze at the stars and then continued with an even lower voice than before: "Are you consulting the stars? I am asking because, in my experience, consulting a clanmate can be just as helpful." His eyes sparkled amicably. Of course, he hoped she would consult him rather than some random clanmate who, overall, could never surpass him.
