{-Frostwhisper-}
It was a typical day in Willowclan, but most cats knew that it was on most typical days that something exciting happens that makes it an interesting days. The silver tabby was in camp, grooming her fur when the argument had started, not giving another care in the world as she sat quietly outside the warriors' den.
Her ears pricked up when Willowstar and Oaktalon started to bicker, the argument heating up quickly. It was about the kits Willowstar and an unknown tom were expecting, almost no one knew who that tom was, though certain cats were more curious than others about the subject. Oaktalon was pretty much demanding Willowstar to give the name of the father, while Willowstar seemed overly defensive over the whole ordeal.
Frostwhisper's ears swivelled nimbly as it caught every word. She wasn't one for gossip, but an argument between two royals in broad daylight, for all to see, was too big of a thing to miss out. It'll spread across camp like wildfire, and she wanted to get the information first hand instead of hearing some warped version of it from someone else.
The molly thought over the situation quietly. If it had been any other queen that was about to have the kits of an unknown tom, she would have respected her decision to keep him anonymous, but Willowstar wasn't any queen, she was the leader of Willowclan, her clan. Willowclan being a monarchy, Oaktalon had a point that the clan deserved to know who the father of a potential heir is. The father is a part of one's identity, the kit would be missing apart of their identity as well as fatherless growing up.
Knowing what growing up without parents felt like, Frostwhisper hated the thought of these kits growing up without a father.
However, the argument seemed much to heated to simply be about the identity of the father. Oaktalon seemed to have not only wanted Willowstar to tell everyone the truth, but also aimed for something else. The shecat narrowed her eyes slightly, they could have had this argument in private, but Oaktalon initiated it in public, as if he wanted everyone to know, but why?
She sighed, trying to sort her thoughts once again, but found them in a messy jumble. Talking about them normally helps clear her head, so she scanned the camp for someone to talk to. Everyone seemed to have gathered in deep conversation already, and she dreaded the thought of interrupting them.
Her keen green eyes soon caught sight of the shape of an apprentice underneath the shaded area near the edge of the camp. He was easy to recognize, his long dark grey fur gave him away easily. Lionpaw, Oaktalon's apprentice, seemed to have not joined any of the discussions, and she found that odd as this was his own mentor everyone was talking about.
She padded over, taking a seat a few mouse lengths away from the younger cat.
"Not every day that you see two royals going at each other in public." She said gently. "I find it odd that Oaktalon initiated this argument in such a public setting, what are your thoughts?" She went over her words as soon as they're said, hoping that they didn't sound as if she was prying or only talking to him for the information, if there was even a difference between the two.
