Alouette stepped daintily over puddles of water and cautiously skipped around patches of mud. Her fur was fluffed out against the newleaf chill though not many could tell, as her coat looked like a curly tangled mess to the common eye. It was actually pretty soft and well-groomed, she prided herself in that. Letting out a little sigh as she missed a step and put her paw right into a patch of muddy rainwater. Her mother had taught her never to complain, and never to exclaim anything in vain. So all the cusses she heard occasionally said by the other cats she knew, never touched her lips. The most she could do was sigh. Flicking the water off her previously pristine paw, the molly wound her way around the water and stepped onto a patch of new green grass. It was very fine and tickly, but covered the ground well enough that she could barely see the dirt. Finally, I don't have to watch every step. She had been so concentrated on keeping herself clean that she didn't notice that she had crossed a scent line. She likely wouldn't have payed much attention to it otherwise, and she was used to strong scents like that. Looking around at the flat landscape, she let out a purr as her eyes found a small little white daisy perched atop a tall stem. Padding over to it and sitting down neatly, she tapped it gently with her paw. Pretty. This one is nothing like the ones in my garden at home. There is a beauty in wild things, I suppose.
