He didn't know where he was going, just that his paws were taking him somewhere. He couldn't really see where he was going, of course, but that didn't mean he didn't know where he was going. This time, maybe he didn't. That didn't mean he didn't know every time. But that was all part of the experience of exploring. The ground was rough under his paws, and he guessed that he was going over what the other cats called "rocks." He just had to take their word for it. It just looked like a watery greyish blob to him. He was stuck in his world of blurred colors, not entirely swathed in black like when he closed his eyes. He could see the light, at least. He had come to start noticing cats by their pelt colors as well, though it was troubling from afar and nowhere near as reliable as his sense of smell. Tansypaw had that signature golden color, and was small and fluffy around the edges. Crowpaw was taller and more angular, and with a pelt darker than the color under his eyes. Suddenly, a scent washed upon him. So strong, he was surprised the cat wasn't standing right in front of him. But as he turned, all he could see were the smudged green and brown colors of the forest. This was a part of his vision that didn't work too well. If Crowpaw stood in the dark, he wouldn't be able to see her. If Tansypaw stood in say, a meadow with tall grass the same color as his pelt, he wouldn't be able to distingush him at all. He could only pick out say, a red cat in a dark forest or a white cat in a green field. He doubted this cat was green, but perhaps they were dark enough to blend in with the browns. Or maybe just smart enough to be able to stay out of sight of a ninety-five percent blind tom So, instead of wasting his time trying to spot the cat, he simply called out: "Who's out there? Do show yourself."
testin out an idea for a somewhat blind character, they have very poor vision but can still "see" light and color.
