HOW MANY YEARS
I KNOW I'LL BEAR
i found something
IN THE WOODS SOMEWHERE
THORNSTRIPE. 34M. WILLOWCLAN.
Before Rosepaw, Thornstripe hadn't participated much in the way of training the younger generation. One's first few ideas of the 'ideal' mentor likely wouldn't have been the lazy WillowClan molly, but she actually quite liked apprentices and it gave her something to get up and do each day. Training a younger cat helped fill that void she felt where she had been robbed of any offspring. Of course, Rosepaw wasn't her kit, but it didn't stop her from conjuring the sentiment in her mind. With new-leaf now upon the Clans, temperatures were beginning a steady rise and prey was returning to the territories. She thought it wise to capitalize on the fresh abundance of food by teaching the younger cat how to catch it before it all disappeared again. But stalking and pouncing on prey wasn't really Thornstripe's style, and she didn't feel the need to teach a 9 moon apprentice how to pounce on a mouse.
Instead, she made her way to the lake. Often she came on her own just for self-reflection and to be alone, but today her hideaway became their training grounds. The water wasn't painfully cold anymore and so she decided it was a fine day for fishing.
"Have you caught fish before?" she questioned, settling down neatly by the water's edge and curling her tail over her front paws. She was still very proper, even if she wasn't one of the highest of WillowClan's standing anymore. "I can teach you if I must, and please, just say it if you need help. Now's not the time to show off; blundering around in the water will only scare the fish."
