Mentors, if you do not have the time or desire to train an apprentice, please let me know and I will make adjustments as needed!
Oaktalon approached Willowstar the previous night with a report: His apprentices were ready to be named warriors.
She was shocked that he didn't come in to harass her about her decisions. It felt like the old days, really, having her brother by her side as her loyal deputy. She almost felt sad that those days were long behind them.
It really was too bad that he didn't see things her way anymore. Their paths diverged at some point, and Willowstar found her brother walking on a path toward darkness. She didn't like seeing that, but what could she do?
The fluffy gray tabby padded into camp, plopped a squirrel down on the fresh-kill pile, and called for her Clanmates to gather at the Willow.
Her brother was among the first to reach the tree, and Willowstar waved her tail in greeting to him; he dipped his head in return.
"Fellow warriors, today we celebrate Clan life by appointing new ranks to a few cats among us," she said. "It has come to my attention that Oaktalon's apprentices, Wavepaw and Lionpaw, are ready to receive their warrior names. Shall we begin?"
The leader cleared her throat, then looked to Wavepaw.
“The Royal Family agrees that Wavepaw is worthy of receiving his warrior name. Oaktalon, you have trained him well in the name of your Queen. Wavepaw, you have worked hard to show us that you are ready to become a warrior. I now name you Wavepelt, warrior of WillowClan. Welcome to adulthood, friend.”
“The Royal Family agrees that Lionpaw is also worthy of receiving his warrior name. Oaktalon, you have trained him well in the name of your Queen. Lionpaw, you have worked hard to show us that you are ready to become a warrior. I now name you Lionfeather, warrior of WillowClan. Welcome to adulthood, friend.”
The Queen cheered the new names, and then waited a few moments for silence. "In addition to our new warriors, there are two kits who will become apprentices today. Elmkit and Dawnkit, please step forward."
“I, queen of WillowClan, feel that this kit is ready to take on the responsibilities of apprenticeship. Elmkit, your paws are now on the path of a warrior. Stoneheart will guide you on your journey toward becoming a loyal, respected friend of the Royal Family. May your apprentice days be full of joy and learning.”
