StarClan/Dark Forest cats and the character limit

Out of curiosity, do StarClan or Dark Forest cats count towards the character limit? They can’t age or have kits, and they don’t affect any clan statistics. I ask cause I want to rp one of my cats after She eventual dies but I’m worried that I’d have to leave her cause no one else would want to waste a slot on a cat you can’t exactly plot with.

If you can handle your character count and activity per character then deceased cats can be ‘free’ as in won’t count towards the character limit. But I will need to think more about this.
