Can cats in character mention new prefixes?

This is a weird question, but can I have, say Willowblossom say that a kit named Wisteriakit or Violetkit would be cute? I know you guys don't like the idea of us suggesting our own prefixes/suffixes- which is completely understandable- but I feel like it wouldn't be out of the question for a cat to wonder about using prefixes not in the list.

No; the list of prefixes and suffixes is there because those are the names the clans use.

I also don’t want to micromanage names that people are coming up with. For instance, names that are not realistic to the clans current lifestyles such as a plant they would never encounter. Also situations where a character playing the kit then roleplays their character with the thought in mind or vocalizes it. For instance, “Petal- remembered her deceased mother always telling her she thought of naming her Lavender-. In her mothers memory she now wants her friends to call her that.”

It is easier for me and all of staff if members stuck to the list we have and please keep in mind we do already have a large list with plenty of names that haven’t been used as of yet.

Okay! Again, I don't want to suggest names, you have a huge list already, it was just curiosity. It makes total sense that you don't want to have any chance for loopholes.


Although now I’m wondering what’s stopping the cats from naming their kit Strongkit or something. Maybe StarClan just gives the medicine cats a list lol.

I think it’s more like their culture deems the names acceptable? Or maybe it is a StarClan thing haha
