All high position roleplayers are expected to post with their position characters at least 4 times a month. If you will be absent, please make sure to let us know so we can plan accordingly! If you do not feel like you can consistently keep up, then please do the right thing and step down from your position so someone more able can take over. There is no shame in saying "I don't have the time or energy for this". Thank you to Stormy for the format for high position information!
Members may have up to two high positions at a time. You cannot play two of the same rank.
All leaders are expected to post ceremonies, create fun in-character events for their Clan (it doesn't have to be big--a feast every now and then could be interesting, for example), and be involved in roleplaying with their leader's Clanmates.
All high positions have the authority to lead their Clan to gatherings.
Deputies and Captains, if your Clan's leader does not bring the Clan to the gathering within one week, you are encouraged to do so.
Medicine cats and medicine cat apprentices, if your Clan's deputy does not bring the Clan to the gathering within one week, you are encouraged to do so.
Medicine cats are expected to keep up with injuries and illnesses within their Clan. They should be ready to plot and deal with prophecies and create break-outs of illnesses within their Clans.
All high positions must have a turn around rate of three to four years in real life. If a character has held the same high position for three years the position must be given up within a year. This is to allow for a rotation of a high position and will prevent the same person from holding the same position for forever. High positions can have a turnover at anytime, but must occur before the time restriction.
Leaders: Each leader receives four lives, a total of eight split between them. Both leaders have very specific roles within the clan, the Guardian Leader tasked with protecting the clan against outside forces and territory expansion and the Hearth Leader chosen to keep the peace within the clan. The Guardian Leader is often charged with creating patrols that protect the border as well as push past them. The Hearth Leader keeps everyone happy and inserts their ear in all things information, every rumor and secret usually finding its way to them. Both leaders have a deputy of their own that replace them should they pass away or retire.
Roleplayers of the two leaders are expected to discuss important decisions within the Clan and roleplay accordingly. Some situations, such as a forbidden relationship within the Clan, can be dealt with by whichever leader responds to the thread first.
Deputies: There are two deputies in SootClan, both tasked with serving both the leaders. Specific duties are designated to both deputies, the Guardian deputy focusing on tracking predator movement and the Hearth deputy tasked with collecting information. Though they serve both leaders, each deputy is the replacement of the leader that chose them.
Medicine cat: The SootClan medicine cat is typically a rather religious individual and is fundamental in interpreting StarClan's prophecies. They should be played as as they would be from the books.
Medicine cat apprentice: The SootClan medicine cat apprentice follows the same information as their mentor.
Leader: The leader of MarshClan is expected to lead all things outer clan. A figurehead for Gatherings and any interclan relations, MarshClan's leader really only meddles in big picture problems. The clans day to day lives are based entirely on the individual. Cats often come to the leader for advice but their input isn't always necessary. Any serious dispute is resolved by vote, each warrior has the option to express their opinion before the leader calls for a vote. This leader has nine lives given to them by StarClan and is typically an incredibly religious individual.
Deputy: MarshClan's deputy is voted in by the warriors of the clan. When the position is open, cats may approach the leader with their interest in the position. The leader then decides which two cats they feel would best represent the clan and puts the choice to a vote. At any time the deputy may be replaced if the clan or leader so desire.
Medicine cat: The medicine cat for MarshClan is perhaps the most devout of all medicine cats. They are incredibly involved in the lives of MarshClan's members, often encouraging cats to seek StarClan's guidance when they are in need of assistance. MarshClan's deep connection with StarClan means their medicine cat is expected to commune with their ancestors regularly.
Medicine cat apprentice: The MarshClan medicine cat apprentice follows the same information as their mentor.
Leader: The leader of FogClan has only one life, though they are still honored with the name -star while they hold this rank. The leader may be challenged for their position should another Captain feel they are more deserving of the title. See more in Captains below.
Captains: There are a total of nine Captains inside FogClan, their rank best compared to a deputies. At any given time one of the nine Captains acts as leader while the rest of the Captains run patrols and keep tabs on clan members. Each Captain is charged with the same job and meet throughout the day to discuss clan matters. Every three IRL months the Captains have an opportunity to challenge the leader for the rank and must persuade the other Captains for their support. Whichever Captain wins the debate becomes leader until the process repeats. When a Captain position opens, the current serving along with the medicine cat decide on who in the clan would best fill the space. If a consensus is not found, the position remains open until an agreement is made.
Medicine cat: Because FogClan is a religious-less clan, this cats sole purpose is to heal. Remedies passed down medicine cat to medicine cat are used to cure diseases and repair wounds. Only in the most dire situations would this medicine cat seek guidance from StarClan and even still would rather figure things out on their own than rely on cats in the sky. FogClan's medicine cat still meets with every clan's medicine cat during the half-moon but is often gone before the talk of prophecies is mentioned.
Medicine cat apprentice: The FogClan medicine cat apprentice follows the same information as their mentor.
