Hey Staff!
I was looking around for cat photos and found this cool pattern that I'd like to use for a character, but since it was something fairly uncommon I thought I'd check with you guys before making a cat. Just to make sure I wasn't doing anything illegal c:
Here's the website that I felt like explained karpati best and had the most experience on it- the karpati pattern is a dominant gene that can affect cats of any color (cream, black, chocolate, etc.) or pattern (tabby, tortoiseshell, etc.) and is usually characterized by a darker face/head that has speckles of white most commonly around the muzzle/ears, with body being overall a lighter color than the rest (the spine and tail may be darker). Kittens are born almost all white and their fur color darkens over time. It did start out as a mutation, but it is heritable.
It's not a pattern wildly accepted by a lot of different cat breeds yet, or even found in a lot of breeds, but there have been efforts to introduce karpati into the LaPerm breed and in a few other breeds.
Maybe if this cat started out as a kittypet or had kittypet ancestry, they could have this pattern? If there are problems with putting this into litter rolls, I can make the cat infertile.
Thank you in advance <3

Some examples (there are more on the linked website, if you click on the boys/girls you get even more photos of the cats the breeders own that are karpati)
