Cinderstar
Fireclan || Female || Strong Leader || 21 moons
'This may be unexpected'
Oh yeah, here we go.
When Froststar turned to look at Cinderstar who purposely stood on the higher portions so she could look down on the white molly. Her amber eyes turned to slits in suspicion, holding Froststar's dazzling gaze in a challenge. Shared leadership, and yet you are about to surprise both Aspenstar and myself, I'm sure.
Alarm shot through her suddenly. Froststar was announcing a Leader's Apprentice. Her Leader Apprentice. A low, long growl built in her chest but it was far too quiet to hear. The rumbling of it made her quiver, anger sparked through her and aimed for the back of her eyes, making her see red briefly as she prompted herself to calm down.
With her jaw tight from anger, the grey leader whipped her head in the direction of Breezepaw, staring so hard she thought perhaps her eyes would just vanish from overuse. The anger was not directed towards Breezepaw, however, and her hostility turned towards Froststar.
"Are you fucking serious right now?" Cinderstar hissed at her, quiet enough so there would be no unexpected commentary from their clanmates. "You don't think that's something to consult your fellow leaders about?"
The crowd below only redrew her attention when the familiar shout of Blazepaw rang through the air, directed at Sunscorch. Flattening her ears, Cinderstar turned her head to see the commotion, listening to the words and wishing she didn't miss what Sunscorch had said. Something predictable, I'm sure. Hating on Breezepaw... a defective cat as a leader's apprentice? I am just as shocked. Does Froststar care about anything but attention? I seriously doubt her abilities as leader. You better prove me wrong, you little-
Aspenstar was speaking up, threatening Sunscorch which made the fur along Cinderstar's neck bristle. To threaten exile over this was absurd to Cinderstar, but she knew the ginger and white leader had a strong dislike for Sunscorch.
Don't let your emotions get to you, Aspenstar, isn't that what you say to me? You've never once given sanctions to Sunscorch for her behaviour. To banish her before that, I will challenge you right in front of everyone.
It seemed like Cinderstar was going to have to step in if she wanted to prevent that from happening. Starclan, send Fireclan your guidance, why have you been quiet for so long? We are going to rip each other apart at this rate... with me in the fucking lead.
"Enough!" Cinderstar boomed with authority, amber eyes burning into Blazepaw, then Sunscorch in turn. Despite her being a follower of the Strong Leader's, Cinderstar, just as she had done with Fogstone, would put her in her place as a warrior stepping out of line. Despite the three leaders' differences, Cinderstar swore by the Code and would not let another slander or go against their leader... not even if Cinderstar and Sunscorch shared fundamental beliefs.
"Sunscorch, you know as well as I that defiance comes in many forms. If you are a disciplined warrior than prove it and utilize that trait by keeping your Dark Forest damned mouth shut. Blazepaw! Learn from this and do the same. The next cat to speak will earn a moon of tick and dirt cleaning duty. Strictly. Test me if you're feel lucky."
Her face was twisted into a sneer, staring at everyone in the crowd to catch the second someone dared say anything. So far, only the new apprentices were making any sound.
A feeling of disgust had risen in her at the display she had witnessed. Sunscorch had threatened her own kit.
Followers of the Code do not treat kits poorly. Not even an outsider's kit. I see Aspenstar's concerns, but I will fix them before Sunscorch finds herself without a home. And Blazepaw... pah! Aspenstar's son or not he is a fool. How does he think half-bloods are at all supported by the Warrior Code? If they were there wouldn't be a blatant Code stating we aren't to mate outside of the clan.
